Mumbai skipper, Ajinkya Rahane scored a brilliant knock of 148 runs against Karnataka in the ongoing edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 on September 21 (Friday).
The opening stand between Rahane and Prithvi Shaw helped the team to reduce the pressure. The duo completed 106 runs within the 18th over before Shaw departs on 60 runs.
However, Karnataka after winning the toss elected to bowl first. The bowlers didn’t put much effort on the batting line-up of Mumbai team. After that, Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer partnered 216 runs for their second wicket. Iyer also did a splendid job for Mumbai scoring 110 off 82 deliveries.
Moreover, Rahane smashed thirteen boundaries and three massive sixes over the fence to complete his 148 runs off 150 deliveries. He was deliberately looking desperate from the beginning of the match. He tried to attack every bowler with ease.
Rahane will have to lead the team with his experience while they will bowl to Karnataka. He already has done a brilliant job from his end. The pressure, as well as the duty now, depend on the bowlers.
They will try to do their best regarding bowling and fielding to stop Karnataka from chasing 363 runs. However, this might also be a difficult job for the batsman of Karnataka to chase down the mammoth target.
However, Karnataka skipper, Vinay Kumar did the job in the last over to dismiss Rahane. He played some extraordinary shots to bring up his century. Rahane was just short of two runs to make it to 150. The Mumbai bowlers need to extremely cautious to keep the hope of Rahane alive.

#Fanlogic: Ajinkya Rahane has a fifty and a century in List A cricket. Sack everyone who's playing in the #AsiaCup and fly him in to bolster the middle order. The odd 30s from Rayudu, DK, etc are not good enough. We need 100s from No 1 to 11. ???♂️

Mumbai make a massive 362/5 in 50 overs against Karnataka. Rahane made 148, but off 150 balls. Definitely makes his case for return to ODIs stronger, but is it strong enough? The other batsmen made 202 in 150 balls. #VijayHazareTrophy
