Vijay Hazare Trophy: Murali Vijay And Washington Sundar Return To Tamil Nadu Squad

Murali Vijay and Washington Sundar were included in Tamil Nadu squad for the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy to make a place in the quarterfinals.

However, the duo will replace C Hari Nishanth and Yo Mahesh from the squad. Murali Vijay was not a part of India’s Test squad for the series against West Indies. He was playing for Essex after he has been dropped in the midway in the England tour. Murali Vijay scored three fifties and a century from his five first-class innings for Essex.

Moreover, Washington Sundar was not playing since late June after having an ankle injury during training with the Indian team. He had played his last game for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 1, 2018.

In addition to that, Hari Nishanth was there in the original squad but didn’t get a chance to play a single game. Yo Mahesh also came into the team as a replacement for K Vignesh and has been ruled out due to an injury. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has already won four out of their six league games so far. They will play the remaining three matches and will try to find themselves into the quarterfinals.

Furthermore, Murali Vijay scored 323 runs from five essays for Sussex. He is being exceptional with the bat and has got a chance to help Tamil Nadu for the upcoming matches. Washington Sundar also holds a good average both with the bat and ball.

Sundar scored 532 runs from 12 First-class matches scoring his best score of 159 runs. Moreover, he also bagged with 30 wickets with two fifers and a ten-wicket haul.

However, Tamil Nadu will play the remainder against Tripura, Jammu, and Kashmir, and Haryana scheduled on October 3, October 7 and October 9.
