Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Donate Rs.5 Lakh Each To Mumbai Police

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma extended their support to the Mumbai Police by donating Rs.5 lakh each towards the welfare of Mumbai Police personnel. Police and medical staffs are on the frontline to tackle the novel coronavirus outbreak in the country. A number of police officials and medical staffs have lost their lives while protecting the country against the pandemic.
However, they have continued to be on the forefront, and serve the country in their best capacity. The gesture from the powercouple will only help to boost the morale of the Mumbai Police further.

Mumbai is among the worst effected cities in India. The total number of cases in Maharashtra has breached the 19,000 mark by Saturday evening. In the country the lockdown has entered the third stage when a few restrictions being lifted by the state government according to the zones.

Param Bir Singh, the commissioner of police, Mumbai thanked Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma for their contribution via a tweet. He said their contribution will safeguard those at the frontline in the fight against COVID-19.

After the commissioner thanked them, the citizens of the country also applauded the gesture made by the couple during the crisis situation.
Kohli and Anushka had given undisclosed amounts to the PM CARES fund and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support the fight against COVID-19.
