Aakash Chopra names Chris Gayle as greatest T20 batsman ever
Aakash Chopra named West Indies powerhouse Chris Gayle as the greatest T20 batsman ever. Gayle has scored 1627 runs for the West Indies with two centuries and 13 half-centuries to his name beside plying his trade for franchise leagues across the world. Gayle has been an impact player at top of the order and has been difficult to stop once he puts his foot on the pedal.
Chopra picked up former South Africa batsman AB de Villiers as the second best, followed by Kieron Pollard and David Warner. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma took the fifth and sixth spot respectively.

Explaining his choice, Chopra said that Rohit Sharma has poor average in the shortest format compared to other players in the list. Moreover, his strike-rate has also failed to be up to the mark in the T20s despite his effortless shot-making skills.
