Australia’s skipper Aaron Finch has stated Indian captain Virat Kohli is arguably the best player of all time in One Day Internationals. Kohli has an immaculate record in 50-overs version as he has ticked the right boxes. The talisman batsman has been instrumental in India’s success over the years. Kohli has thus far scored 10533 runs in his ODI career at a stunning average of 59.50.

Kohli has thus far scored 39 centuries in ODI cricket which goes to show his consistency. The right-hander has amassed 24 centuries while chasing a target. The Indian linchpin had scored a good knock of 72 runs off just 38 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. Thus, Kohli is in fine form.

“They [India] have got in Virat, arguably the best player of all time in ODI cricket”, he was quoted as saying by PTI at a pre-match press conference in Hyderabad on Friday.

Furthermore, Aaron Finch feels India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma could be a big threat for the Australian team. Moreover, Finch believes India is a potent side which has covered most of its bases. Finch also praised India’s bowling line-up which has taken giant strides in the recent past.

“Rohit has been in good form. They have quicks, who move the ball upfront and execute really well at the death. They play well everywhere to be pretty fair.

“I think when you have a team that has played together for a long time, they understand each other well. Probably a settled group of 14 or 15 very good players are playing for a long time. That goes a long way as to why they have been so successful in particular,” he elaborated.

Australia had clinched the two-match T20I series against India. The visitors had come up with a complete performance as they were able to tick the right boxes.

Finch also confirmed that they are ready to counter Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Finch added, “Kuldeep and Chahal are obviously a big threat. They have had the better of us in the last couple of times we have played them. We are working hard on that and there are definitely some plans for them”.

The first ODI between India and Australia will take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium in Hyderabad on 2nd March.
