Virat Kohli has created a huge stature in international cricket and it reflects on the national team. Kohli did not go well with former head coach Anil Kumble, as a result, he was replaced by Ravi Shastri. Kumble was strict, he was someone, who would not allow players to enjoy their time off the field as much as Shastri would allow.

In fact, Shastri hands the baton to Kohli to lead the charge. He accepted the same in a podcast on Sky Sports.

Team India head coach Ravi Shastri believes the captain should lead the team from the front and the coaching staff should only prepare them. He also said, the coaching staff eases the burden from the players. It is then on the skipper to lead the way.

“The captain is the boss, I always believe that,” Shastri said on the Sky Cricket Podcast on Friday. “The job of the coaching staff, as far as I’m concerned, is to prepare the guys in the best possible way to be able to go out there and play brave, positive, fearless cricket.”

“The captain leads from the front. Yes, we are there to take off the burden but you leave him to do his job in the middle. The captain sets the tone and is encouraged to set the tone. In the middle, he controls the show.”
