There is little denying the fact that India skipper Virat Kohli is one of the most if not the most popular cricketer across the globe. The batting superstar has developed a huge fan following, not only because of his unbelievable exploits on the field but also his lifestyle and fashion statement.  Kohli has been ruling the cricket arena with his batting in the last few years. At just 30, Kohli has scored a staggering 10,843 runs in 227 ODIs. He averages 60.08 and is already the second highest centurion in ODIs with 41 tons to his name.

Apart from his batting, Kohli’s personality is another factor that makes him so popular. His fearless approach on the field, his body language, his modern attitude is just perfect to appeal to this generation. While Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra took home the honour of being the most followed account at the Instagrammer of the Year 2019 awards in Mumbai, Kohli’s account was termed the most engaging one. Kohli has over 32 million followers on Instagram. The batting star keeps his followers updated with his day-to-day life. Kohli had won this year last year too.

The right-handed batsman, meanwhile, is currently leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the Royal Challengers are already out of the playoff race. With just 9 points from 13 games, they are at the bottom of the points table and are likely to finish another season with the wooden spoon.  The Bangalore-based outfit will end their season with the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.

Kohli enjoyed a decent season with the bat, scoring  448 runs in 13 games at an average of 34.46 including a century and two half-centuries.  After the IPL, Kohli will lead India in the all-important World Cup.
