Virat Kohli surpasses MS Dhoni, becomes India’s top run-scoring skipper in T20Is:

Ahead of the third T20, Kohli needed just 25 runs to surpass Dhoni. He instead scored 38 runs before giving away his wicket to Hamish Benett. The Indian skipper now trails Kane Williamson (1,148) who’s at second place behind Faf du Plessis (1,273) who leads the charts.

Meanwhile, in the third T20, Team India got off to a blistering start courtesy of Rohit and KL Rahul’s brilliant 89-run partnership.

However, New Zealand got back into the game and restricted India to just 179 runs in 20 overs.

The hosts, powered by their captain Kane Williamson’s 95-run knock tied the game and the match went to super over. The Kiwis went first and scored 17 runs off Jasprit Burah’s super over.

For India, Rohit and Rahul came out and chased down the total with two consecutive sixes in the last two balls.

After clinching the series, India will now hope to do a clean sweep. For the Black Caps, its a matter of pride now. The fourth T20 meanwhile, will take place on Friday, 31st January back in Wellington.
