The India National Cricket Team captain, Virat Kohli has recalled meeting legendary Tennis star, Roger Federer as beautiful. It was after the Australia tour when Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma attended the Australian Open. The couple went onto watch Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams play their respective round of 32 matches at the Rod Laver Arena. That is when Kohli met the 20-time Grand Slam winner; he revealed he got surprised to know that Roger remembered their last meeting.

Roger Federer, one of the greatest Tennis players of all time is a great human being too, reckoned Virat. The Indian skipper said he was awestruck to know that Roger remembered meeting him a few years ago in Sydney.

Virat added how much awestruck he was to come across Federer. Kohli further opined, he had watched him play since his childhood and to see him in person is a different feeling altogether. Known to follow a strict regime for his fitness and practice, Kohli said listening to how Roger prepares himself for the games was so good.

He further added to know about his mindset wasn’t something usual, and that he termed his overall experience as ‘beautiful’.

“Well amazing! I have met him a couple of times before as well and the fact he remembered was like wow! I mean he told me that he met me in Sydney a few years back when he played an exhibition game and I was like ‘wow he remembers me’.

And for me that was I can’t explain that feeling to you, you know…I have seen him play since I was a child and he is a great great man, not just a great Tennis player but a great human being as well. 

He kept asking questions and I was like ‘he is asking me questions’ and I could speak to him about mindset, how he prepares, what he thinks about his sport and it was just a beautiful, beautiful time,” said Kohli

India leads ODI series in NZ
