Virat Kohli Will be a Great Challenge - Kiwi Spinner Ajaz Patel

New Zealand’s slow left-arm orthodox Ajaz Patel hopes that he can test his skill against Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli is in a sensational form where he broke many records in this year. Meanwhile, Ajaz Patel had a fine start to his Test career as he scalped a five-wicket haul on his debut. The southpaw spinner was instrumental in helping the Kiwis to white-knuckle win of four runs in the first Test against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Ajaz Patel feels that Virat Kohli is a great player in recent time. Instead, Patel wants to challenge himself against the best batsman in the business. He also added that if he ever gets a chance to do so, he will try to give his best to achieve the success.
“Kohli will be a great challenge,” said Ajaz Patel said while talking to AFP.
“You always want to challenge yourself against the best and he is the best in the world. So if that comes I will cherish it and give it the best crack.” he added.

Recently the Indian skipper had achieved the landmark of scoring fastest 10000 ODI runs. However, Virat Kohli achieved this feat in his 205th inning to reach the five-figure mark. Sachin Tendulkar, who held the record previously, had appeared in 259 innings to make the same score. Kohli achieved the mark in 54 innings lesser than the batting legend.
The 30-year-old now has 62 centuries and 67 half-centuries combined in both ODI and Tests. Moreover, Virat Kohli also scored three consecutive centuries against Windies in ODIs in the recently concluded series. He also remains the highest run scorer of the tournament and was awarded the Man of the tournament.

Veteran Kohli has played 216 ODI scoring 10232 runs with a healthy average of 59.83. On the other hand, Ajaz Patel is yet to make his debut in ODIs.
