Indian National Cricket Team had a bright run in 2019 across format despite failing to win the ICC World Cup in England in July. The Men in Blues will hope to start the new year on a positive note when they host Sri Lanka, followed by Australia in limited-overs series. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s childhood Raj Kumar Sharma has issued a warning ahead of the Aussie series, who are currently in swashbuckling form after the return of David Warner and Steve Smith.

The last time India toured Australia in 2018-19, the Asian giants were indomitable winning their first bilateral series. They produced complete effort to sink the Aaron Finch-led side who were without two of their main players – Smith and Warner due to the one-year suspension for their role in the ball-tampering scandal. India won the Test series as well, which followed, thus strengthening their top spot in the ICC Test Rankings for teams.

Australia will be challenging: Raj Kumar Sharma

However, the upcoming series will be a whole new ball game. Australia will come prepared and on the back of some outstanding victories in home conditions. Ahead of the series, Raj Kumar Sharma has cited warning for Team India stating that the host should not take the visiting team lightly.

“Australian series will be challenging. This time they are coming fully prepared. The Indian side can’t take them lightly,” Raj Kumar Sharma told ANI.

Meanwhile, India will begin their year with three-match T20I series starting from January 5. A three-match ODI against Australia will follow beginning in January 14 in Mumbai. The Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot and the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore will host the second and the third game of the series on January 17th and 19th.
