Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag congratulated Indian women team on making it to 2018 Women’s Asia Cup Final in Malaysia. Sehwag is also hopeful that Harmanpreet Kaur-led team would lift its overall seventh title.

Meanwhile, India has held its supremacy in the Women Asia Cup so far since its inception way back in 2004. Women in Blue have won all the previous six editions of the tournament after the first-ever edition was held in Sri Lanka.

Indian women have continued their domination in the Asia Cup 2018 after thumping arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets – to enter the grand finale of the tournament.

India continues its Supremacy in the Asia Cup:

Kaur Women in Blue won their fourth match to seal a spot to play in the mega final. They were able to beat arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets.

Consequently, the Queens of the Asia Cup will meet either Pakistan or Bangladesh in the final of the tournament. If Bangladesh is able to win against Malaysia, then they will meet India in the final.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has already surprised India once in the tournament. Thus, the defending champions will like to tighten their screws.

Interestingly, the left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht was the best Indian bowler against Pakistan. Bisht scalped three wickets and gave away just 14 runs in her four-over quota to bag the Man of the match award.

On the other hand, Shikha Pandey, Anuja Patil, Deepti Sharma and Poonam Yadav chipped in with one-wicket each.

However, Pakistan failed to achieve any momentum in their innings. Opener Nahida Khan and middle order batswoman Sana Mir were the only two players to reach double-digit figures.

On the other end, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur were able to take India over the line despite early blows. Both Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma were dismissed on naught.
