Virender Sehwag, former Indian swashbuckling opener, took a dig at SunRisers Hyderabad bowler Siddarth Kaul after the right-handed fast bowler was smashed by Mumbai Indians spin-bowling all-rounder Krunal Pandya for 20 off just 4 balls in the 20th over of the innings during the fixture between the two sides in Sharjah on Sunday.
Siddarth Kaul was playing his first game of the 2020 season, having come in for injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the match against the Mumbai Indians. The right-hander had started the last over brilliantly as he knocked over Hardik Pandya with a brute of a yorker.
Post the dismissal of Hardik Pandya, Kaul erred in his lengths as he dished out length balls as well as low full-tosses, only for Krunal Pandya to take full toll, smashing him for two sixes and two fours to help Mumbai Indians post 208 in 20 overs.
Sid Kaul finished with figures of 2-64 in his quota of four overs and according to Virender Sehwag, Krunal Pandya reminded the fast bowler why he was on the bench for such a long period of time, adding that he might not play in the upcoming games.
“Krunal reminded Siddarth Kaul why he was on the bench and may not play going forward.” Virender Sehwag said in a video posted on his official Facebook page.
SunRisers Hyderabad eventually went on to lose the game thanks to a disciplined bowling effort by Mumbai Indians. But more than the defeat, SRH will be sweating on the form of Sid Kaul especially after Bhuvneshwar Kumar getting ruled out of the tournament.
