Former Team India opener Virender Sehwag wished his teammate Zaheer Khan as the former left-arm pacer is celebrating his 39th birthday. Zaheer Khan who was one of the finest bowlers produced by India played a very important role in India’s triumph of the 2011 World Cup. In fact, Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan enjoyed many memorable moments in the dressing room.

Sehwag and Zaheer played with each other for a long period of time. Thus, they share some sweet memories with each other while playing for India.

Virender Sehwag wishes Zaheer Khan.

Taking to his twitter handle, Sehwag shared a picture of the two with a nice caption as he always gives. “Happy Birthday to the man whose deliveries gatecrashed many stumps, have a great life ahead Gyaan Baba @ImZaheer,” Virender Sehwag wrote.

Zaheer Khan was one of the greatest exponents of the reverse swing. However, he was unable to boast a great Test record as he played most of his cricket on unresponsive Indian pitches.

However, in unresponsive pitches, Zaheer was at the top notch and dismissed many great batters with exceptional deliveries. The way he used to hide the ball and change the seam during the release stride speaks volumes about the tricks which he had up his sleeve during the major part of his career. He also developed the knuckleball which he used so effectively during the 2011 World Cup.

In fact, it was after Zaheer that the delivery got famous and was used by several bowlers. The Knuckleball has become an important delivery for a bowler especially in the shortest format of the game.

Meanwhile coming back to Virender Sehwag, he had smashed Zaheer Khan on a few occasions in the Indian Premier League. Sehwag and Zaheer were part of Team India during the major part of their career. Meanwhile, Sehwag made his international debut in South Africa back in 2001.

Zaheer Khan made his debut a year earlier in the ICC Knockout Trophy in Kenya. Both went on to serve India for a long period of time. While Zaheer is regarded as the finest left-arm pacer produced by India, Sehwag remains the most entertaining batsman India has produced.
