Test great VVS Laxman has utilised his time in the lockdown to pay tribute to his former teammates. 2011 World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni is the latest addition to the list of cricketers he has paid tribute to on Twitter. MS Dhoni made a big name for himself by making the country proud with his achievements after coming from the cricketing backwaters of Ranchi. He has achieved immense success as a player and also grew up to be one of the most successful captains and achieved almost everything the ICC tournaments had to offer.

All the success has made him one of the most influential person on the cricketing circuit but he was not the same when he was first introduced to the national team. Besides that, MS Dhoni has also been the go-to man for his teammates whenever he is on the field.

VVS Laxman said Dhoni has the rare ability of viewing cricket as a sport and not a matter of life. The Test great said, one of his major quality was, to keep composure under pressure. Laxman also added the 2007 T20 World Cup triumph worked as a catalyst for his legendary captaincy saga.

“Blessed with the rare equanimity of viewing cricket as a sport and not a matter of life and death, @msdhoni’s calling card was composure, especially under pressure. The 2007 World T20 triumph catalysed the stirring captaincy saga of a leader who talked through his deeds,” VVS Laxman tweeted.

At present there is a lot of speculation regarding to the future of MS Dhoni. He did not feature in a match since 2019 World Cup nor has let anyone known about his future. He continues to remain silent.
