The all-rounder of Australia Shane Watson landed in Pakistan for the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League and the first thing he did after attending the press reporters is to apologise Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Wasim Akram. He also revealed that Wasim Akram is one of his childhood heroes.
Recently, Wasim Akram took part in Australia’s Bushfire Charity Game under the captaincy of Ricky Ponting. On the other hand, Shane Watson opened innings for Gilchrist XI and smashed a couple of big sixes facing Wasim Akram.

Following the incident, Shane Watson asked his apology to Wasim Akram for hitting them out of the park, especially, the second six which went miles away with the breeze pushing it forward.
“I still feel really bad about that – Wasim [was] one of my heroes when I was growing up and now as well as he is a quality person. I felt very bad especially after [the] the second one went in the breeze and kept going, I continued to apologize to Wasim.” Shane Watson was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

Further, Shane Watson downplays suggestion of making a comeback to the Australian team for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2020. Watson stated that he is pretty much happy with his cricketing career at the moment and would like to maintain the same by performing for his franchises.
“In regards to comeback for Australia in T20 World Cup, no, I am very happily retired and I love doing what I am doing in different tournaments but now with Quetta Gladiators is one of the highlights of my year and it’s a pleasure to be here again,” he said.
Shane Watson will be in the action when Quetta Gladiators take on Islamabad United on February 20th in Karachi. Following the tournament, he will join Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2020.
