Watch: After His Bowling, Pavel Florin Lights Up European Cricket League With His Batting

Pavel Florin is fast-becoming one of the most adored cricket players in the world. At a time when the elite players are desperately trying to add more variations to their already fancy armoury, Pavel Florin is making people fall in love with him with his ordinary technique. In fact, it would not be very wrong to say that Pavel Florin’s technique is not even fit for club-level cricket but his spirit is fast making him a hero. Florin is playing for Romania’s Cluj Cricket Club in the European Cricket League (ECL).

A few hours ago, Florin, who is a 40-year-old professional bodyguard and president of Romania’s Cluj Cricket Club, was all over the news for his utterly unusual bowling action. Florin’s lack of pace and distinctive bowling action was harshly criticised online before his statement on his action changed everyone’s perception.

Florin, who is playing despite not having fully recovered from a broken leg, made it clear that he does not mind the criticism as he loves cricket. Unsurprisingly, he received a wave of support from all around with even the legendary Shane Warne praising him.

“Maybe someone says my bowling is not beautiful or not effective, but I don’t care, because I love cricket,” Florin told the European Cricket League. “It’s not beautiful, I know, everybody says it, but I’m a slow bowler.”

And if people were struggling to come to terms with his bowling, then his batting will surprise them even more. Just like his bowling, his batting technique was pretty unorthodox but it did not stop him from doing all he can for his team.
