One way or another, Pakistan’s Ahmed Shehzad finds out a way to land himself in a position where the fans are left with no option but to troll him. Whether it is coming up with an absurd comment, posting a picture on Twitter or doing something bizarre on the cricket field, the Pakistani batsman always manages to give the cricket fans an opportunity to have fun at his expense. Well, in his latest act, Shehzad had done something which cannot be classified as bizarre but can be called blatant cheating.

Shehzad, who was once compared with Indian skipper Virat Kohli,  called for a DRS over a clear-cut dropped catch on the field when his team was on the verge of losing a game. During a clash between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Areas, the former were cruising in their chase of 269 runs when Khushdil Shah hit one high towards deep midwicket. Shehzad, who was standing in that region,  got underneath the ball and looked set to complete a regulation catch. However, he ended up dropping the catch.

And if dropping a simple catch wasn’t enough, Shehzad, then bizarrely signalled for a review. The replays clearly showed that the Shehzad had missed the dolly.  Well, it was not the first time, Shehzad had done something like that on the cricket field. In 2015, he had dropped Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Thirimanne, but told the on-field umpires that it was a clean take. Replays later left him red-faced.

Coming to the latest game, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa needed 3 runs from 4 balls when Shehzad dropped the catch.  Khybeer went on to win the game by 3 wickets with two remaining.

Here is a clip of that bizarre incident involving Ahmed Shehzad:

Ahmed Shehzad, meanwhile, has failed to make it to Pakistan’s preliminary squad for the upcoming World Cup. Pakistan, on Thursday, named a 23-man shortlist without Shehzad’s name.
