For the second game in a row, Aaron Finch and David Warner failed to give Australia a good start in the ongoing ODI series against India. The two started the series with a bang by slamming centuries as they shared an unbeaten 258-run stand in the series-opener to help Australia beat the hosts by ten wickets. However, things have not gone their way since then.
In the second game when the visitors were chasing an improbable 341, David Warner and Aaron Finch could add only 20 runs for the first wicket before the former was dismissed by a stunning catch from Manish Pandey. Aaron Finch later departed after scoring 33 as Australia lost the high-scoring game in Rajkot by 36 runs.

And their fortunes remained same in the ongoing series-decider in Bengaluru. The Australia openers could add only 18 runs before Mohammed Shami made Warner edge one behind the stumps to wicketkeeper. Warner, who was the Man of the Match, managed to score just 7 as his series ended on a dismal note.

Aaron Finch did not last long either and he was absolutely livid with Steve Smith after a run out brought an end to his innings. On the penultimate delivery of the ninth over, Steve Smith just played one towards the point and set off for a single straightaway. Seeing that, Aaron Finch ran from the non-striker’s end and had crossed the half length of the pitch when Smith changed his mind and returned back to his crease.
Aaron Finch did try to return to non-striker’s end but it was in vain as Shreyas Iyer collected the ball it at short midwicket and threw to Mohammed Shami who whipped off the bails before the Australia skipper could get inside the crease. Shocked after being hung out in dry, Finch looked towards Smith in anger before walking off the ground in utter frustration.
