Australia have continued to spread dominance in the second Test in Adelaide to seal the series. But Babar Azam enthralled the spectators with another spectacle as he defied star-studded Australia’s pace unit to score 97 runs to save Pakistan for another humiliation. During his knock, the talented Pakistani batsman played some gorgeous looking shots on all sides of the wicket.

Meanwhile, the Adelaide crowd was still dreaming about David Warner who remained unbeaten on 335 runs as the home side declared after scoring 589 for three. Warner and Marnus Labuschagne shared a massive 361-run partnership to frustrate the Pakistan bowlers for almost two days. Labuschange finally got out for 162, but Warner continued with his brilliance hitting 39 fours and one six before Tim Paine declared the innings.

Babar Azam led a lone fight against Australia

While David Warner dominated for the most of the match, Mitchell Starc knocked off the visiting team’s batter. No one managed to resist except Babar Azam who was fresh from a century in Brisbane in the last game. Starc single-handedly reduced Pakistan 89 for six before the day ended, but by then, Babar has played some glorious looking shots to leave his mark.

During one such incident, Babar Azam displayed terrific hand-eye coordination to bring out a copybook cover drive to knock off a good length delivery off Josh Hazlewood. The young Pakistan batsman showed excellent balance while playing that shot which was arguably the shot of the day.
