It looks like the pressure of captaincy has started taking a toll on Pakistan’s new T20I captain Babar Azam. The right-handed batsman is arguably the coolest and calmest player in the Pakistan team. One has rarely seen Babar Azam letting his emotions get the better of him. However, the Pakistan star could not keep his emotions under check when he was run out in the second T20I against Australia.

For the second game in a row in the series, Babar Azam scored a fifty. However, he was not at all happy with the way his knock ended in the second game. His 38-ball 50 runs knock came to an end after he was run-out while attempting a second run immediately after reaching his fifty.

The incident happened off the last ball of the 16th over as he fell short of the crease courtesy a stunning piece of work by David Warner. Batting on 49, Babar worked a ball from Ashton Agar towards the deep midwicket region and while he reached his half-century with a single, he decided to go for another run.

However, it brought about his downfall as Warner’s direct hit caught him short. And while the Australian players were celebrating the dismissal, Babar Azam stood in the middle of the pitch lashing out at his partner Iftikhar Ahmed.

Here are a couple of clips of that incident:

Australia, meanwhile, thrashed Pakistan by seven wickets to take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the series after the first game ended without any result due to rain. Pakistan finished their innings on a modest 150 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Apart from Babar, Iftikhar also scored a fifty, slamming 62 from just 34 balls. In reply, Australia rode on Steve Smith’s unbeaten 80-run knock to chase down the total inside 19 overs.
