Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Daniel Christian might have missed out in the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders; however, he proved his worth in the field. As Shubman Gill kept steering the momentum towards the Knight Riders in a steep run-chase of 205, Daniel Christian’s blinder at mid-on helped put the brakes on him. In the process, Kyle Jamieson got the first breakthrough for his side.

Shubman Gill looked sharp from the first over as he clattered a boundary to give the Knight Riders a strong start in pursuit of 205. The right-handed batsman went hard in the second over bowled by Kyle Jamieson as he started with a boundary, followed by two clean strikes for sixes in the third and fourth ball. But Jamieson bounced back by sending Gill to the pavilion as a mistimed shot resulted in Daniel Christian as he sprinted to his right and snared the ball at mid-on.

Glenn Maxwell struck 79 off 48 deliveries and shared half-century stands with Devdutt Padikkal and AB De Villiers. De Villiers provided the final flourish by finishing not out at 76 off 34 balls.
