Deepak Chahar is the talk of the town ever since he smashed a match-winning 82-ball 69 in the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Tuesday.
India were in a precarious position and were staring down a certain defeat when Deepak Chahar came to bat in the second ODI.
They had just lost the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav, who was looking really good during his maiden ODI half-century knock, and the score read 6/160.
The visitors were dealt with yet another body blow when Krunal Pandya, who had scored a calm-and-collected 54-ball 35, got knocked over by Wanindu Hasaranga with the visitors still needing another 83 runs to win.
But then, Deepak Chahar took center stage as the Rajasthan cricketer unleashed a calculated counterattack on the Sri Lankan bowling unit.
Whether it was against pace or spin, Chahar unleashed his brilliant stroke play to peg back Sri Lanka significantly.
Chahar brought a brilliantly compiled half-century and it was fitting that it was him who scored the winning runs- a disdainful pull shot over midwicket.
As the euphoria of Chahar’s whirlwind knock continues, the right-hand seamer took to his official Instagram account on Thursday to share the highlights of his brilliant knock of 116 off just 90 balls during a practice game against Railways.
The highlight package is enough to whet the appetite of any cricket fan as it includes brilliant stroke play from Deepak Chahar.
In the video, Chahar can be seen taking the attack on the Railway bowlers with absolute disdain.
Cut, pulls, lofted strokes down the ground off spinners as well as pacers, inside-out shot through the covers, delicate slice over point; the highlights package has everything.
