Dinesh Karthik and his flying catches is an incredible love story. He is known for the knack of pulling off some absolute blinders. Taking a trip down the memory lane during the inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, Dinesh Karthik took a splendid high-jump catch at slip only to Graeme Smith off RP Singh’s bowling, a memory which is etched on the fans’ mind.

Now as a wicketkeeper, he took a gem of a one-handed catch behind the stumps in Deodhar Trophy final, which was indeed a feast for the eyes. He sent Parthiv Patel packing at the best scene. The latter made his way back to the dressing room in disbelief. Credit goes to Dinesh Karthik for giving everything to grab a stunner.

The drama unfolded in the ninth over when Ishan Porel pitched a good length delivery that took the outside edge of Parthiv Patel’s blade and went straight to Dinesh Karthik. The latter positioned himself in such a way that he put an acrobatic dive to take a marvellous catch, proving that age is just a number in the gentleman’s game.

India B set a target of 284 despite poor start:

Digging a tad deep about the match, India B were off to a terrible start against India C, losing both of their openers namely Ruturaj Gaikwad and Parthiv Patel inside the first 10 overs.

Ishan Porel was the main man who had accounted for both the openers. He grew from strength to strength as the game progressed and went on to pick up his second five-wicket haul in List A cricket. Besides the 21-year-old fast-bowler, Jalaj Saxena and Axar Patel took a wicket apiece.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kedar Jadhav did manage to put on a good show, scoring half-centuries while Vijay Shankar also scored with a quick knock of 45 off 33 balls. Meanwhile, all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham also played a cameo of 35 runs off just 10 balls towards the end of the innings in a bid to uplift his side to a challenging total of 283/7 in 50 overs.
