Chennai Super Kings star Faf du Plessis has once again proved that age is just a number as he took not one but two stunning catches in the ongoing match against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020. What was even more incredible is that he took both the catches in the same over.

In the fifteenth over of the innings bowled by Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis took the catches of Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya to send them back. Tiwary was the first batsman to be out.

On the first ball of the over, Tiwary went for a shot at long on. It was a flighted delivery and the left-handed batsman decided to go for the maximum. He connected quite well and the ball was looking good to cross the boundary too. However, Faf du Plessis had some other plans in his mind.

The former South Africa skipper timed his jump to perfection to catch the ball before it could clear the ropes. The momentum was taking him over the ropes but before that he threw the ball in the air. He then quickly recovered and claimed the catch to end Tiwary’s promising knock of 42.

Four balls later, Hardik Pandya suffered the same fate. This time, Pandya went for a lofted shot over long-off. Having already hit two sixes, the allrounder connected well with the ball but Faf du Plessis was up to the task again as he took another juggling catch.

At the time of compiling this report, Mumbai Indians were 141 for 6 in the seventeenth over with Kieron Pollard and James Pattinson in the middle.
