Indian fielders were at the receiving end of some poor crowd behavior during the third morning of the Lord’s Test as a section of spectators threw champagne corks at the boundary rider, KL Rahul.
The incident came to light during the 69th over of the England innings which was bowled by Mohammed Shami when KL Rahul complained of some spectators throwing champagne corks.
And, as a result, captain Virat Kohli was spotted urging KL Rahul to throw back the champagne corks.
Meanwhile, England have taken pole position in the ongoing Lord’s Test thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 100-plus-stand between skipper Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow.
Under bright sunshine and on a track that seems to have no demons, England batsmen cashed in big-time against what looked like a toothless Indian bowling attack.
Not a single wicket fell during the morning session and England accumulated a total of 97 runs with Joe Root nearing yet another hundred while Jonny Bairstow reached his first Test fifty since Lord’s Test in Ashes 2019.
