Ireland’s senior batsman William Porterfield could not hold back his frustration as he dropped the F-bomb after being cleaned up by speedster Umesh Yadav in the second T20I on Friday(June 29) at Dublin.

Nothing was going right for Ireland when Porterfield’s furniture was disturbed by Umesh. Down 1-0 in the series, Ireland needed to win the second game to avoid a series defeat.

However, barring the toss, nothing went their way. First, they conceded 213 runs in the 20 overs. In reply, they started disastrously.

Paul Sterling fell to Umesh in the very first over even without opening his account. The onus was on Porterfield, one of the most experienced players in the team, to keep the chase on track.

But, he eventually fell in the third over while playing a poor short. He was bowled around his legs as he tried to play a cheeky shot. His ploy to shuffle across off – to try the paddle sweep backfired completely as the ball made a mockery of his stumps.

And as soon as the ball hit the stumps, Porterfield made his feeling clear. In fact, he was so miffed with himself that he even shouted the “F” word which was caught on the stump mic.

Here is a clip showing the incident:

Coming to the game,  Ireland completely crumbled in reply, with skipper Gary Wilson (15), William Porterfield (14), Stuart Thompson (13) and Boyd Rankin (10) the only players to reach double figures.

Hosts were all out for just 70, thus losing the game by 143 runs.

Earlier in the game, KL Rahul (70 off 36) and Suresh Raina (69 off 45) had taken the game away from the hosts.

Moreover, the duo added 106 runs for the second wicket. Towards the end, Hardik Pandya slammed 32 off just nine balls to guide India to a gigantic total.
