Australia bowlers had to toil hard on the first two days of the ongoing third Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. With the pitch not offering much to the bowlers, Mitchell Starc & Co. were sent on a leather-hunt by the Indian batsmen. On the first day of the game, the hosts had managed to take just a couple of wickets with both being taken by Pat Cummins. The only thing that went Australia’s was was that India could not score at a good rate. On day one, the visitors could managed just 215 runs.

Australia’s struggles with the ball continued on day two too as overnight batsmen Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara did not let them get any wicket in the first session. In that very session, Pujara reached his ton in that very first session while Kohli reached his fifty. Australia finally managed to take a wicket when Virat Kohli hit a short delivery from Mitchell Starc straight to the fielder at third man. But there was still no respite for the hosts as Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten fifty to help India post a massive 443 for 7.

And amidst all this, Mitchell Starc lost his cool and gave Rishabh Pant a piece of his mind after seeing the India wicketkeeper run in the danger area. The left-arm pacer was visibly frustrated after a long day and could not hold back after seeing Pant commit the mistake for the second time.

Looking at the umpire Ian Gould, he said, “He’s f***ing done it again mate.” Then he looked back at Pant and said, “How dumb are ya?!”

Eventually, the pacer got Pant in his last over of the first innings, after being hit for a four. In an attempt to pull Starc over midwicket, Pant top-edged the delivery to offer an easy catch to Usman Khawaja. Pant scored 39 runs off 76 deliveries.
