Aaron Finch literally started his innings against Mumbai Indians on a painful note. The Royal Challengers Bangalore opener was hit at a place which could reduce any man to tears. The incident took place in the second over after Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first.

Devdutt Padikkal started the proceedings well by hitting Trent Boult for a four as the Royal Challengers collected 8 runs from the first over. The second over started with a double from Aaron Finch before the Australia star suffered the painful blow.

Pattinson’s delivery came back in sharply and Aaron Finch could only inside edge it. And after hitting the bat’s edge, the ball went on to hit the right-handed batsman at a place where it should not hit. As soon as the ball made contact with Aaron Finch’s box, he fell on the ground as Kevin Pietersen said ‘goodness me’ on air.

The Mumbai Indians fielders as well as the umpire soon rushed to his help as the batsman was grimacing in pain. Aaron Finch then stood up and took his gloves and helmets off. His face had turned red as it looked like he would throw up. He took some time off, drank water and fortunately continued batting.

Aaron Finch was batting on 52 off 34 balls while Padikkal was on 22. The Virat Kohli-led side are looking to bounce back after suffering a crushing 97-run loss in their previous game.
