Stafanie Taylor was batting on 94 with just one ball remaining in West Indies’ innings during the first ODI against India in Antigua. The West Indies star needed a maximum on the final ball bowled by Ekta Bisht to reach her ton. Bisht bowled a flighted delivery towards off stump and Taylor came dancing down the track to hit a six.

The right-handed batter connected really well with the ball as she hit a big shot towards long-on. The ball was looking set to sail over the long-on boundary before Harmanpreet Kaur came into the picture. Just before the ball could cross the boundary, Harmanpreet Kaur came running in from the left side, timed her jump to perfection and pulled off an absolute blinder.

What made the catch special was that she took it with her weaker left-hand. As soon as Harmanpreet Kaur took the catch, she fell on the ground but made that her body does not touch the ropes.

Here is a clip of that stunner from Harmanpreet Kaur:

The catch from Harmanpreet Kaur, meanwhile, did not make much difference for India as they lost the thrilling first ODI by just one run. Chasing 226, India were all out for 224 on the very last ball of the match. Batting first, the hosts rode on Taylor’s 94 to put on a challenging total of 225 for 7.

After the 51-run stand between the openers, West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals. But Taylor held firm from one end to make sure her side put up a good total. In reply, India suffered an almighty middle-order collapse to throw away the game. At 170 for 2, the visitors were looking set to win the game. However, they lost their last 8 wickets for just 54 runs including 3 in the last 8 balls to lose the game.
