Young fast bowler Ishan Porel copped up a nasty blow on his leg during the finals of the Deodhar Trophy at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Despite that, Porel returned with five wickets as India B restricted India C to 283 runs.

Porel and Diwesh Pathania utilised the new ball really well for India C. And Axar Patel backed them up by some tight bowling. India B were only 92 for four at the halfway mark, at the point, they would have even taken 250.

But Kedhar Jadhav had other ideas, his tournament wasn’t going according to the plan so far. But in the big final, he decided to step up his game and showed why he is been rated so highly by some of the finest cricket minds in the country.

He wanted someone to provide the finishing touch, Krishnappa Gowtham did that in a breathtaking fashion with a 35 run cameo in just 10 balls. And his knock powered India B to a formidable score of 283. Ishan Porel returned with five wickets while Jalaj Saxena and Axar Patel returned with one each.

Meanwhile, during the 47th over of the match, the young fast bowler from Bengal copped a serious blow on his shin. Kedar Jadhav drilled back a good length delivery to the bowler, Ishan Porel was trying to get out of the way. But it travelled at a ferocious pace to hit him on the ankle bone. Porel looked in serious pain but after a brief break, he is ready to bowl again.
