Rajasthan Royals star Jos Buttler has come up with a stunning catch to send back Faf du Plessis in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi. What makes the catch even more special is that he was not behind the stumps and was fielding at short cover.

After MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first, CSK were off to a slow start. Sam Curran and du Plessis managed to score only 8 runs from the first two overs. And as if that was not enough, Jofra Archer sent back du Plessis in the third over while conceding just 5 to pile more misery on the Chennai-based outfit.

It was a 148.6kph delivery from the Royals pace spearhead and du Plessis went for the upper cut over point. However, he had misjudged the bounce of the ball and ended up hitting it much straighter towards short cover. But the ball was still looking to land in the no man’s land before Jos Buttler flew to his left to take the stunning catch.

At the time of compiling this report, CSK were on 43 f0r 2 after the end of the powerplay. Curran was batting on 16 while Ambati Rayudu was playing on 9. The ongoing game is crucial for both the teams as a defeat could all but end their slim playoff hopes. Both the teams have managed just three wins from their first 9 games and cannot afford more slip ups.
