Kamlesh Nagarkoti is fast proving why Kolkata Knight Riders retained him since 2018 despite his injury hell. The young pacer had earned a lucrative IPL contract after impressing in India’s victorious campaign in the 2018 ICC U19 World Cup.  However, he missed the previous two editions of the tournament due to injury.

In fact, the Rajasthan pacer did not play top-flight cricket at all since February 2018 due to ankle and back injuries. But KKR still decided to retain him and the youngster is looking set to justify the franchise’s season. He finally made his IPL debut last week during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The right-arm pacer failed to take any wicket in the game but has made a big impression in the ongoing match against Rajasthan Royals. In his very first over, he picked up the wickets of Robin Uthappa and Riyan Parag and capped off a fine outing with a stunning catch to send back Jofra Archer.

On the fourth delivery of the 15th over, Archer tried to play a big shot off Varun Chakravarthy. However, the England star could only end up miscuing his shot straight over the bowler’s head. The ball was looking set to land between long-on and long-off.

However, Kamlesh Nagarkoti had some other plans. The youngster came running from long-on and made a stunning full length dive to catch the ball. Meanwhile, KKR have all but sealed the game against Royals. At the time of compiling this report, the Royals were reeling at 112 for 9 in the 19th over while chasing 175.
