Watch: Kieron Pollard Tricks Umpire As He Cleverly Converts A No-Ball Into Dead Ball

West Indies captain Kieron Pollard is an interesting character both on and off the field. He surely knows how to put on a show on the field. Be it batting, bowling and fielding, he woos the audience by coming up with unexpected moves which turn out to be hilarious or sometimes controversial. This is why he is cut above the rest of the other cricketers in terms of entertainment.

During the third ODI versus Afghanistan, Kieron Pollard stole the show by playing smart during his run-up. He deceived the umpire, Ahmed Shah Durrani, as he had to quickly convert no-ball into a dead ball, a smart piece of trick which only Pollard can pull off with such ease.

The Caribbean’s act did take everyone by surprise including the umpire himself who got shocked the very next second and had to signal this as a dead ball. Afghanistan were reeling at 74-4 in 20 overs and were forced to steady the ship with help from Asghar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran. In a bid to break the flow of the game, Windies skipper himself came to bowl in the 25th over.

Pollard then made up his mind to deliver the ball in the right slot to former Afghan skipper Asghar. Just as when the Windies skipper was about to release the ball, the umpire shouted ‘No-ball’. Much to everyone’s surprise, Pollard didn’t deliver the ball as heard the call from the umpire just before his release.
