India has had all sorts of issues at the beginning of their innings. First, the pair of Vijay and KL Rahul didn’t help the scoreboard and secondly Pujara’s wicket put the visitors on the backfoot. Mitchell Starc, who got Murali Vijay before lunch picked Cheteshwar Pujara just after tea on day 2 in Perth. Meanwhile, after the fall of the first two wickets, India looked in some trouble. However, the pair of Kohli-Pujara provided some aid later on.
Slight edge sees Pujara home

Talk to an Indian team fan, and he will tell you how much of importance was it to have Cheteshwar Pujara at the crease. The India batting mainstay, who had a fighting 123 in Adelaide looked in his regular groove.
Though the surface had some bounce and pace to offer, Cheteshwar Pujara had an answer for everything. Now, when everything was looking smooth for the Indians, Starc came and provided a significant breakthrough.
Just after tea, India was reeling on 82 for two when Starc bowled a leg-sided delivery which got the wicket. On often occasions the ball would have gone for a boundary at fine leg; but here, it found an edge instead, and Paine grabbed it comfortably.
Pujara, by then had faced 102 deliveries before unfortunately nicking one. More importantly, the partnership of 77 got broken which brought Australia back on track. The India number three scored 24 runs though.
Aussies hit 326 in the first innings
Earlier on day two, Australia scored 326 in the first innings after remaining 277 for six at stumps on day one. For the visitors, Ishant Sharma got four wickets while Hanuma Vihari, Bumrah and Umesh got two each.
