Indian keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was the man India looked forward to on day three of the first Test against England in Nottingham. Rishabh Pant has emerged as one of the biggest match-winners for India in recent times and prefers going for his shots, regardless of the situation. But the southpaw could not make a significant impact even as he made a promising start.
The dismissal occurred in the 50th over when the match resumed as the players went off the field thrice. Heavy rains kept interrupting the game; however, it seemed to do the England quicks plenty of good. Rishabh Pant exited in the final ball of the second over after resumption as Ollie Robinson bounced back incredibly well. He copped a six in the bouncer off the previous delivery; however, in the very next ball, Pant got deceived by the extra bounce off a good length ball.
Pant merely chipped it to short cover, where Jonny Bairstow took a straightforward catch, giving Robinson his second wicket. The southpaw scored a 25-ball 20 before departing, leaving India at 145-5. The play on day two ended early as persistent rains kept the teams off the field, with the visitors reeling at 125-4. They were at 97-0 at one stage before James Anderson rocked their batting order, dismissing Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli cheaply.
Meanwhile, below is the clip of Rishabh Pant’s wicket:
