Unlike in Tests and ODIs, India have been quite inconsistent in T20Is in the last one year or so. In the ongoing year, India lost series to New Zealand and Australia in addition to drawing against South Africa. The solitary series win came against West Indies. Consequently, India are ranked five in the shortest format of the game.

The Men in Blue will have a chance to improve their ranking when they take on Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series. The series will kickstart on Sunday in Delhi. And ahead of the clash, India’s stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma has made it clear that what India need to do. The star batsman said that he is well aware of India’s performance in T20Is in recent times and has done his homework. Rohit Sharma spoke about India’s rank in T20Is and said that the team needs to go higher.

“The first priority for us is to win games. And then focus on the rest. We have not had a great run in T20s. We probably are ranked number 5 or 6, if I am not wrong. I think five,” said Rohit Sharma.
