India’s dressing room must have been sweating profusely when Sri Lanka reviewed an lbw decision against MS Dhoni in the just-concluded third T20 International in Mumbai. The former India skipper walked into bat when the hosts needed just 28 off the last 23 balls, but although it was not the toughest of the scenarios, the Sri Lankan bowlers’ bowling certainly made it tough.

But just three balls after his arrival at the crease, Dhoni was just inches away from joining his teammates in the pavilion when Dushmantha Chameera’s delivery rapped him on the pads. It was looking close, and the visitors immediately went up in unison only to see the umpire giving his decision against them. However, Sri Lanka were convinced they had their man and did not waste time in reviewing the on-field umpire’s decision. But replays showed the ball was passing well over the stumps.

In the meantime, India’s stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma was seen giving an exciting reaction from while sitting in the changing room when the players were awaiting the third umpire’s decision. With tension running high, Rohit was seen signalling his teammate that the ball was passing over the stumps.

Meanwhile, Dhoni remained till the end, scoring the winning runs as India chased down 135 to win the game by five wickets and seal the series 3-0.
