Every time an umpire’s decision is being reviewed during an India-Australia game, the excitement goes one level higher and sometimes even more when it involves Australia skipper Steve Smith. The Australia skipper was the protagonist of the infamous DRS controversy that erupted during the Bengaluru Test earlier this year and not surprisingly, every time he gets involved in a DRS call, the viewers expect some drama.

Well, the Australia star was not involved in a review taken by India in the ongoing fourth game in Nagpur but the excitement increased when the camera showed him taking a close look on the laptop in the dressing room as the players were awaiting the third umpire’s verdict. The incident occurred on the last ball of the 34th over when Travis Head’a attempted sweep off Kuldeep Yadav failed to make any contact with the ball and went straight into Dhoni’s gloves behind the stumps. However, Dhoni appealed immediately and after the umpire gave his decision in the batsman’s favour, Virat Kohli wasted no time in reviewing it. However, replays showed that the umpire was right as India ended up wasting their review.

In the mean time, Steve Smith also signaled from the dressing room, giving his thumps up to his teammate to show that he was safe.

Here is a clip showing Smith’s reaction:
