MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni celebrated his 37th birthday on Saturday.

The Indian national team arrived in Bristol for the 3rd T20I against England. Upon arrival, the whole team celebrated the birthday of Mahendra Singh Dhoni who turned 37 today. The celebrations in the Indian dressing room are always of a different level. Earlier we had seen guys like Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and few others get smeared by cake all over their face and body on their birthdays. Despite Dhoni being the senior most player in the team, he wasn’t spared either.

The two wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal started off the process and the rest of the team then joined in the fun. His wife Sashi and daughter Ziva was also present in the dressing room to celebrate Mahi’s birthday. There was a huge celebration and the video was posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on their Twitter and other social media handles.

Dhoni is in the twilight of his career and there is no denying the fact. However, he is still one of the fittest players going around despite being 37. His running between the wickets is still better than many young players in the world. He is definitely not the same Dhoni which he used to be 5-7 years ago. However he is still the best wicket-keeper batsman in the country, especially in the limited overs format.

Dhoni played well in the 2nd T20I

The former skipper looked in good touch during the 2nd T20I against England where he remained unbeaten on 32 of 24 deliveries which included 5 fours. However, the Men in Blue lost the match in the end by 5 wickets. It was a special knock from the blade of Alex Hales which ensured England kept their hopes alive in the 3 match series. The decider will be held tomorrow at the County Ground in Bristol.

Dhoni had a brilliant time with the bat in the Indian Premier League and scored over 400 runs for the Chennai Super Kings. He led the yellow brigade to their 3rd IPL triumph. Dhoni looked his old self and smashed nearly 30 sixes in the triumphant campaign for Chennai. His form will be vital for India if they harbor hopes of reclaiming the World Cup title next year.
