The Indian skipper Virat Kohli had a rare off day as he could only score four runs in the ongoing first One Day International against the West Indies at MA Chidambaran Stadium. Kohli was trying to run the ball towards the third man for a single against Sheldon Cottrell but got an inside edge which chopped back on to the stumps. We have seen that Kohli likes to get his runs in singles and doubles in the initial phase when he comes out to bat.

However, it wasn’t to be in the first match as the West Indies was able to get a big wicket under their belt. Kohli has been in sublime form as he scored 183 runs in the T20I series against the Windies. On the other hand, India had a bad start as KL Rahul was also dismissed cheaply.

Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 36 runs when he tried to pull Alazarri Joseph but could not get his timing right as he gave a catch to skipper Kieron Pollard at short mid-wicket.

India had clinched the T20I series by 2-1 and they would like to continue their good form going in the home conditions. The hosts have been dominant in their own conditions and they are a difficult side to beat in their own conditions.
