It seems like Pakistan fast-bowler Wahab Riaz has regained his devastating form. The left-arm bowler had a terrible outing in this year’s ICC Champions Trophy where he was ruled out of the tournament after playing just one game. The solitary game he had played also turned out to be forgettable one for him as he returned the most expensive figures in the Champions Trophy with 87 off 8.1 without a wicket in his team’s tournament-opener against India. The poor performance against India only extended his indifferent form in 2017 where he has conceded 260 runs and taken two wickets at an average of 130 and an economy rate of 7.72 in 4 ODIs.

However, the 32-year old, currently plying his trade for Barbados Tridents in CPL, looked in sizzling form against Jamaica Tallawahs on Sunday (August 6). At 65 for 1 in 10 overs, the Tallawahs were comfortably placed before Tridents skipper Kieron Pollard handed the ball to Wahab and the decision turned out to be masterstroke as the Pakistan international derailed the Jamaica-based outfit’s innings by taking 3 wickets inside 4 balls.

The first to be dismissed was Lendl Simmons. The opening batsman, who was batting on 32, wanted to flick the ball through the square leg but could not time it well and the ball went straight to Pollard at mid-wicket. On the very next ball, Wahab trapped his compatriot Imad Wasim in front of the wicket. The next batsman, Rovman Powell managed to survive the hat-trick delivery but inside-edged the next ball onto his stumps:

Wahab’s efforts, however, went in vain as Tallawahs defeated the Barbados-based outfit by 12 runs to open their account. Tallawahs scored 154 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs while Tridents were all out for 142 on the last ball of the match.
