With the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch providing next to nothing to the bowlers on the ongoing final day of the third Test, the Indian bowlers could not quite manage to ask too many questions to the Sri Lankan batting lineup which had looked fragile in the last five innings. As a result, the Islanders fought back well after losing their former captain Angelo Mathews early on the day. However, Dhananjaya de Silva and skipper Dinesh Chandimal steadied the ship with a 112- run stand before the latter fell when trying an ambitious shot off Ravichandran Ashwin.

Chandimal’s departure, however, did not affect Sri Lanka’s momentum as de Silva went on to compile a brilliant century. However, a glimmer of hope arrived when de Silva was retired hurt for 119. But the hope did not last long as Roshen Silva and Niroshan Dickwella shared a century-plus stand. And just when it seemed India would not get any chance to break the solid stand, an opportunity arrived when Dickwell danced down the track but missed the ball completely. However, Wriddhiman Saha failed to gather the ball and missed a regulation stumping, making Jadeja unhappy. It was a big opportunity for India to claw their way back into the game and Virat Kohli keeping his hands on his head in surprise said it all.

Here is a clip of that miss from Saha:
