Zimbabwe’s Under-19 wicketkeeper Dane Schadendorf pulled off a majestic stumping against the New Zealand Under-19 team in quadrangular series. New Zealand Under-19 batsman Beckham Wheeler-Greenall shimmied down the track while facing southpaw leg-spinner Tadiwanashe Nyangani, who was bowling from around the wicket. However, the right-hander could not make any connection with the ball turning into him.

The ball turned a long way and kept going towards the leg-side. However, Dane Schadendorf was quick to react as he gathered the ball cleanly. But the gloveman was going towards the leg-side with the impetus and had no chance of effecting the stumping with his hands.

It was insane glovework from Dane Schadendorf.

Dane had the presence of mind and flicked the ball on to the stumps and was able to hit the bullseye. Beckham Wheeler-Greenall had no chance of making his way back into the crease and was dismissed after scoring 24 runs from 49 balls.

Subsequently, Zimbabwe Under-19 registered a two-wickets win against New Zealand Under-19 boys in the match to secure third place. The match was played on 9th January 2020. New Zealand posted 198 runs after their skipper Jesse Tashkoff won the toss and elected to bat first. No Kiwi batsman was able to get past the 50-run mark as they failed to get any momentum in their innings.

The Blackcaps skipper Jesse Tashkoff was the top run-getter as he scored 39 runs whereas Milton Shumba scalped four wickets. The Zimbabwe all-rounder was awarded the Man of the Match for his fine performance as he also scored 50 runs to help his team chase down the target.

However, Dane Schadendorf could score only three runs for his team. Zimbabwe opener Emannuel Bawa scored a good knock of 41 runs and added 85 runs with Milton Shumba. Taurayi Tugwete scored a crucial inning of 37 runs to help his team get close to the target.

The Under-19 World Cup 2020 will kickstart from 17th January in South Africa.
