West Indies' Kraigg Brathwaite Reported For Suspect Action

West Indies’ Test opener and part-time off-spinner, Kraigg Brathwaite has been reported for suspect action. He has been reported for having a suspect action during the second Test against India, where he scalped the wicket of Ishant Sharma in the 140th over. Ishant scored his maiden half-century in that Test. Brathwaite had also bowled in the first Test against India but had gone wicketless.

Brathwaite will have to undergo the bowling test before September 14 but it is allowed to bowl till then. It is the second time in his career that Brathwaite has been reported for having a suspect action.

He was also reported for the same during West Indies’ famous tour of England in 2017. Although, he got his action cleared and started to bowl his part-time off-breaks again.

West Indies suffered a defeat against India across from in the recently concluded tour. After winning the T20Is and ODIs, India also registered wins in Tests.

The visitors won the opening Test by a big margin of 318 runs. In the second Test, the margin of win was 257 runs.

Much was expected from Brathwaite during the Test series but he had a poor run with the bat in the series. He just scored 28 runs in four innings.  Prior to the series, he had also played one unofficial Test for West Indies A against India A where he scored 46 runs.

He will next be action against Afghanistan when both the teams play one-off Test in Dehradun, India from November 27. He does not play ODIs and T20Is and will be out of international action till then.

On the tour of Indies, West Indies will play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against Afghanistan. Later, West Indies will also play three ODIs and three T20Is against India.
