The Indian National Cricket Team skipper Virat Kohli might stay away from the upcoming three-day practice game. The flamboyant batsman has injured his thumb during the third and final ODI of the series, which would certainly see the skipper taking rest for the practice game.

The Indian skipper is in fine form with the willow. The last couple of games on the tour showed his class as a player and sent strong warnings to Jason Holder-led side. As he already got a decent idea of the conditions, the team management would likely ask him to stay away from the 3-day game against Windies junior side.

Rohit Sharma would like to prove his mettle in Tests:

In between, the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Jasprit Bumrah would be eager to don Jersey for the team, as it has been a long time for them to play in the middle for the country. They would hope to see a quality opposition in the practice game with a decent pitch to play on.

Meanwhile, the in-form batsman Rohit Sharma would also like to press his case by performing in the 3-day game. It would be a toss-up between KL Rahul and Hanuma Vihari for the opening slot alongside Mayank Agarwal, who is certain to open.

In spin section, the team would love to go with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, who has been doing to the job for a while in the longer version of the game. Kuldeep Yadav would like to press his case with a good performance on the practice game.

Apart from them, the likes of Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav would also like to prove their mettle to the team management in order to find a place in the playing XI. In wicket-keeping, mostly, Rishabh Pant would get the nod while Saha would love to give him a strong competition by performing in 3-day game.

The vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane would lead the side in the absence of Virat Kohli during tour game. Personally, the series against the West Indies is very important for Rahane, who failed to put a show for the team for a long time now.
