Hopes will be sky-high when Sourav Ganguly takes over as the BCCI President later this month. The former India skipper, who is widely hailed for transforming Indian cricket, has filed his nomination for the post and is set to be elected unopposed. And even before taking charge of the board, the legendary cricketer has made it clear that he means business.

Sourav Ganguly has already spoken on the future of MS Dhoni, his take on pink-ball cricket and the financial stability of First-Class cricketers. But amidst all these serious issues, Ganguly has made sure that his jovial character does not take the back seat. Known for his outspoken nature, Ganguly recently left everyone in stitches with his comment on India head coach Ravi Shastri.

Ganguly was asked about whether he has spoken to India head coach Ravi Shastri as yet. In response, Ganguly came up with a cheeky answer, saying: “Why, what has Ravi Shastri done now?” The comment was so hilarious that Ganguly himself burst into laughter.

The love-hate relation between Ganguly and Shastri is well known in the cricketing circle. Both of them were involved in a war of words of 2016 when the Cricket Advisory Committee had appointed Anil Kumble as the head coach. Shastri then accused Ganguly of being absent during his interview and ever since thenm the two have never left a single opportunity to take a jibe at each other.

Ganguly had skipped the meeting because it took place through video conferencing as Shastri was in Bangkok. Later, Shastri slammed Ganguly after being overlooked. Ganguly had then hit back at Shastri, saying that he was living in a fool’s paradise if he thought only one member decided his fate.
