India’s limited over vice-captain Rohit Sharma, Test deputy Ajinkya Rahane and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are known to be good friends. However, one incident on the recent tour of South Africa got them into trouble.
All these three players with the company of their families had gone to a Jungle Safari, “Walking with Cheetahs.”
There, Ravindra Jadeja started making weird noises in front of the Cheetahs to get their attention. Jadeja got his wish, as the two Cheetahs turned towards them.
However, both Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane thought that it was not a good idea to do what Jadeja did. Consequently, both Rohit and Rahane said one should never go anywhere with Jadeja, as he almost got them into trouble.
Meanwhile, India had a successful tour of South Africa. After losing the first two Test matches, the tourists made a strong comeback to win the ODI and T20I series.
Rahane said while talking on Vikram’s Sathaye show, What the Duck, “So just when we all reached there, they (cheetahs) turned around and looked at us.”
Rohit interrupted Rahane in between ans said, “It was because of Jadeja. He was making some weird noises and calling them. And we said, ‘What are you doing?! We are in a jungle. If the cheetahs see us, they will make us their prey. But it was the best experience of our lives”.

Rohit also referred to Jadeja infamous selfie with a Lion in Gujarat. In that case, the government had also got involved. The Indian opener added that they should have left Jadeja behind the vehicle.
“The cheetahs were eating and you do not disturb them when they are eating. And then Jadeja started making some noises. He had also done the same thing in Gujarat and the government got involved. So taking him along was not a good idea. Actually, we should have left him behind in the vehicle. The moment Jadeja started making noises, those cheetahs turned around to look at us,” Rohit added.
Rohit went on to add he felt like taking out his frustration on Jadeja by punching him. However, the stylish batsman thought it was important to keep calm at that time.
“At that point in time, only I know what I was going through. I looked at Jadeja angrily and I felt like punching him. But then I thought that it was necessary to stay calm at that stage,” Rohit concluded.
