South Africa all-rounder, Wiaan Mulder, and batsman, JP Duminy have been ruled out for three months and will miss the upcoming tour to Australia and later, the home series against Pakistan. However, it is a massive blow for Proteas ahead of their busy schedule, as they travel to Australia, compete in the Mzansi Super League (MSL) and host Pakistan and Sri Lanka in next four months.

Duminy set for a long stay at sidelines

Meanwhile, Wiaan Mulder had previously sustained an injury during a T20I series against Zimbabwe, and now, he is currently recovering from the ankle injury. Meanwhile, JP Duminy had a successful shoulder operation last week and will not play the MSL. The Protean will travel Australia this week as they will play three ODIs and a T20I. After that, they will host Pakistan for three Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is later in the year.

Furthermore, Wiaan Mulder and JP Duminy are expected to get ready by the time Sri Lanka tours South Africa in February next year. The Proteas will play two Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is starting from February 13, 2019. Moreover, Cricket South Africa has confirmed Hashim Amla is recovering from a finger injury, and he is expected to play the Mzansi Super League.

On the other hand, JP Duminy has played 46 ODI matches and has scored 2103 runs averaging 32.85. He also has six centuries and eight half-centuries to his name. The southpaw recently had played three T20Is against Zimbabwe but couldn’t impress by his batting and bowling figures.

Meanwhile, with the 2019 IPL set to begin in late March, and with the 2019 World Cup in his sights, JP Duminy would have wanted to stay around and have a good run with the bat.
