Former India batsman Yuvraj Singh has issued a clarification after facing backlash on social media for supporting Shahid Afridi Foundation. Both Yuvraj Singh and his former India teammate Harbhajan Singh sprung a big surprise by urging others to support the foundation run by the former Pakistan allrounder.

In recent months, Afridi has been facing criticism from the Indian fans because of his anti-India propaganda and his comments. Afridi tried all he could to tarnish India’s image after the Indian government revoked Article 370 last year. A viral video also showed Afridi boasting about breaking his television because his daughter was doing Aarti after watching it in a show.

Unsurprisingly, the Indian fans were not at all impressed with Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh’s gesture. Both the Indian cricket greats took to Twitter to post a video in which they urged others to support Afridi’s foundation which has joined the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

Fans slammed the two for their gestures and even questioned the lack of support from them for the Indian people. And with the criticism increasing, Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter to clarify his gesture. The World Cup-winner clarified that his message was blown out of proportion, writing:

“I really don’t understand how a message to help the most vulnerable gets blown out of proportion! All I tried to achieve via that msg was to help ppl in our respective countries by providing healthcare. My intentions was not to hurt anyone’s feelings.

“I’m an Indian and I will always bleed blue and will always stand for humanity. Jai Hind,” he added

Meanwhile, the pandemic has been creating havoc all over the world and has brought the entire world to a standstill. All the major cricket events are also off as fans and others desperately wait for the situation to improve and the action to resume.
